ANNOUNCING A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY TO SUBMIT PAPERS
Recently a call for abstracts was announced for the SuWaMa 2013 Conference. Unfortunately that call has expired, however, you still have the opportunity to get involved as a presenter and have your paper published in the Conference Proceedings by CRC Press / Balkema.
Papers must be received by 24 October for consideration. Papers must be CAMERA-READY (10 pages maximum, including figures and tables). Contact us (see below) for instructions on how to prepare your paper to ensure full consideration. The SuWaMa Scientific Committee will review the papers submitted.
Papers should align with the following SuWaMa 2013 themes:
Good watershed management practices: Case studies and examples from various countries including lessons learned from implementation of both successful and deficient management scenarios.
Decision support tools: Monitoring, GIS, data / information management, indicators, ecological economics, cost/benefit analysis, decision making models, legislation and policies, participatory methods / water user partnerships, criteria to evaluate watershed management implementation.
Models: Integrated environmental model applications for management including watershed, air-shed, coastal, and living resource models.
Trans-boundary environmental issues: Air pollution, climate change, coastal oceans at regional, continental, and global scales.
Global watershed sustainability: Establishment of Sustainable Use Watershed Management Seal of Excellence Award initiative that recognizes outstanding programs worldwide.
SuWaMa 2013 will focus on broad array of issues and practical applications that are transferrable around the world. Also note that there is a Conference discount registration fee of 200 Euro for Young Scientist (under the age of 35) from developing countries.
