Dr. Cem Gazioglu is an Assoc Prof. in Istanbul University, Institute of Marine Sciences and Management, Marine Environment Department, BERKARDA Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory, in Istanbul-Turkey. He obtained a B.S. in Geodesy and Photogrametry Engineering from the Technical University of Istanbul, an M.S. in Institute of Natural Sciences (Technical University of Istanbul,) Remote Sensing application in Saros Bay (Northern Aegean sea) and a Ph.D. in Marine Environment (Istanbul University, Inst. of Marine Sc..), Geomatic Engineering. He is also Assoc. Prof. of Marine Sciences and Engineering.
His work at the Marine Sciences involves remote sensing, geomatic, GIS. His major subjects are Remote Sensing, Coastal Zone Management, and Remote Sensing application of geomorphology. He is the author of more than 10 scientific publications (SCI; more than 100 referred), a reviewer for several journals. His current research interests coastal oceanography.
C. Gazioglu has been involved several projects and most of them based on water quality monitoring. He is the author of about 100 technical papers, including numerous papers in journals (SCI) and both national and international conferences. He is one of the reviewers in international journals of the Black Sea/Mediterranean Environment and Turkish Journal of Marine Sciences.
